Works or grace…

in silliness/humor

I found this funny. Via Der Evangelische Theologe, check out what he calls “an ingenious, entertaining and thoroughly depressing document entitled The Semi-Pelagian Narrower Catechism

Here are the first few entries:

The Semi-Pelagian Narrower Catechism

1. Q: What is the chief end of each individual Christian?
A: Each individual Christian’s chief end is to get saved. This is the first and great commandment.

2. Q: And what is the second great commandment?
A: The second, which is like unto it, is to get as many others saved as he can.

I thought some folk who read this might like to check it out. A more serious critique is offered by The Fire and the Rose, who thinks some strands of American evangelicalism hold a pelagian soteriology. But I just think this is funny satire, and not much more…

…Apparently this is all over the blogosphere. For instance, Maggi Dawn posted about it not too long ago.
